Does Being a Writer Affect How I Read or Watch Movies?

I was recently asked if being a writer affects the way I watch a movie. My answer is in this episode of my author podcast.

On being a writer, and the affect this has on my consumption of films and TV dramas.

A Mysterious Beach and Accomplice to Murder

A Mysterious Beach and Accomplice to Murder

A trip to one of Agatha Chrsitie’s Inspirations and the woes of typos.

I’m talking about my trip to a Devon beach that faces Burgh Island, a location that inspired Agatha Christie to write And Then There Were None and Evil Under the Sun.
If you wish, you can see photos from the trip.
I also discuss my frustration at some errors that slipped into the latest Devonshire Mystery, Accomplice to Murder. I shall be looking for an editor and some beta readers, so perhaps you can help.
All the errors were fixed as soon as possible, but if you are affected by the errors I’d like to put it right, and here’s a link to a post with more info.

Attending The Self Publishing Show Live and Where Did That Book Go?

Attending The Self Publishing Show Live and Where Did That Book Go?

I attended the Self Publishing Show Live in London, and that was an excellent and inspiring event. There are pictures on the site for members to enjoy.

Life has been busy, and I’ve been rejigging the Devonshire Mysteries. So if you’re wondering what has happened to A Study in Stone, it’s still available from me as a free book when you join my readers’ group, The Awkward Squad.

But that book isn’t on the stores anymore, because I felt that it was no longer the best way to start the series. A Study in Stone was originally written as an experiment, and although many people love the story, it doesn’t really represent the series. To me, it makes sense to provide the book as a prequel to the series, and I hope that keen readers of the series won’t mind signing up to The Awkward Squad in order to claim the book for free.

Today, I’m chatting about my next writing project as I walk through the Devonshire fields with Lottie.

Will it be a Devonshire Mystery or a spin-off story?

My ideas are at an early stage, so you’re getting a sneak peek into the process right from the ground up.
