October is a great time to sit in the warm with an engaging murder mystery to read, so I’ve reduced the price of the Devonshire Mystery, Valley of Lies.
If you like your crime fiction cosy (or cozy), then you’ll enjoy this murder mystery set in the distinctly rural county of Devon.
This is a small village mystery, but it isn’t all tea and scones.
Whatever books you pick as winter draws on (in this part of the world at any rate), I hope you have a relaxing time, escaping the dark skies and cold nights in the arms of a good book.
Take care and happy reading.

Just finished VALLEY of LIES which I enjoyed. Great recreational reading. Just a note:
I think that what you call bracken in the U.K. is the same thing that we call brush here in the States. It’s often the growth of tall weeds, thick bushes, saplings, brambles, etc., that grow in a field if the grass has not been mowed for four or five years. When you consider how laborious it is to create and maintain a field then it’s sad to watch it go to bracken which is difficult to amble through. Here in New England I see many fields going to brush; a shame because of what fields contribute to the diversity in a landscape. I love a mixture of fields and woods, but I can’t appreciate bracken because it’s a sign that people have given up doing the hard work and they don’t understand the aesthetic value of a field.
Happy to hear you enjoyed it. Yes, bracken is a problem over here. It’s very invasive and animals won’t eat it. I believe it’s very hard to get rid of.
