I entered a half marathon in Dawlish recently. It was mainly a trail run and a hard slog over rutted, muddy paths. The first half was a long, long climb but it did deliver some lovely views.
Almost at the finish!
Afterwards we went into Dawlish for a much needed hot cup of coffee and some lunch, then a gentle stroll by the sea.Â
A desirable residence. Would suit vampire, evil genius or similar. Hot and cold running plasma, integral spooks, fully working pipe organ.
In my imagination, I see someone looking at these houses and saying, “Yeah, I reckon we could get a church in there.”

A lot of attractive architecture languishes and declines in the States, too. The reasons for that are many: Antique utilities, poor insulation, cost of upgrades, location, changing tastes,
disagreements within a family. Imagining what could be is a rewarding – though short-lived – recreational pastime. I do it frequently though it can make me sad, as well.
I totally agree – it’s a shame to see buildings languishing.
