Sue and I made time to visit Blackingstone Rock. Having written a story about the place, I thought I’d better share it with you.
The Rock, and the path to it, are hard to find. There was no signpost, and the car park was small and neglected. The path was so overgrown that we had to push our way through the undergrowth. The bracken was taller than me!
No one else was there, and we had fun exploring and taking photos.
Below you can see various views of the rock and the surrounding countryside.
The ladder going to the top was interesting, and the treads were far too shallow for my feet. In an interesting case of life imitating art, we think we spotted a tent pitched among the trees. Who was camped there, and what were they doing? If you haven’t read Death at Blackingstone Rock, you won’t know why the tent was interesting. Find more about the story here. and check the last picture to see if you can spot the tent.
Also, I used my phone to capture a panoramic view from the top of Blackingstone Rock.

Great photos! It’s a beautiful area. I spotted the tiny car park in one image. I love the shot of Lottie on the steps. Glad you had a good trip and a lovely holiday.
