The winter solstice has finally arrived, and I, for one, am looking forward to the longer days.

The next Devonshire Mystery is mainly set in the Devon city of Exeter, and I thought you might like to see some of the locations I refer to. So here are some pictures of the cathedral and the area around it.

I hope you enjoy them.

I took most of these a few days ago, but there’s a Christmas market on Cathedral Green at the moment and the stalls get in the way, so I’ve included some photos that I took in earlier months.

The Cathedral and part of the the green. This was taken earlier in the year.

A shop facing the Cathedral.

Another view of Exeter Cathedral, also taken earlier in the year.

The impressive front of the cathedral, also taken earlier in the year.

Eat on the Green – an iconic cafe that faces the cathedral. This cafe is also mentioned in Outcast.

A street along the edge of Cathedral Green, which is a grassy area surrounding the cathedral.

The scaffolding is around the remains of a rather grand hotel that was gutted in a fire.

A statue of Richard Hooker with Exeter Cathedral in the background. The statue is also mentioned in my book Outcast.
